Capestance: Slamometer II event

CLICK ON PICS FOR BETTER QUALITY
Last year something great started in essence to start getting our scene more up to standards, I mean we look at overseas stance blogs and our cars have only scratched the surface to what they have achieved around the world. Slowly but surely we are getting there. Slamometer part 1 was hosted in an underground parking facility to see who can do the limbo. Praise the lowered, part 2 finally came!

Now for those of you that don't know Capestance, they a bunch of guys that like to do things proper. You can see on the following coverage how good their cars actually stand above the rest. Two cars to take into consideration and is of fine example would be Shaakier's Yellow Beetle whose front is on air and Rimo's Red mk5 Gti that has air all round. These 2 cars have been on the scene for years, but over the years these cars have finally taken shape into what we call down here in Cape Town of international proportion. Capestance was kind enough to invite some of our crew cars to be put on display. We got at the event 2pm and starting pulling the cars in, Adrian and Padre had some unfortunate water-leak problems, which was sought after immediately.
When Adrian arrived in his green Mk3 Jetta Vr6 and some of the other crew guys with air, the crowds thought the cars was not going to make it up the steep entrance, by the flip of the button they raised their cars and an very impressed crowd stood and wow'd. Air suspension is still a very uncommon modification in South Africa. However it has been here for years or the older systems like hydraulics, which was only used in muscle show cars on rare occasions.
Fabi on the other hand had his hands full in getting in by the entrance, as his White Mk3 Golf was static. Later the evening when the limbo started for anyone to enter, some cars barely made it in the entrance. Especially Emile's Cream Civic whom almost took out the gate runners on the ground scraping every attempt, until later he found the sweet spot and moved through.
The winners of the limbo are as follows. First place was a tie both cars had the same height.

1st The Silver Ghia - I have not yet received the owners name.
1st Yellow CRX - Lyle
2nd Cream Civic - Emile

Keep a look
out on Casual Society's website for a full feature video, the teaser already looks sick! Lorenzo in action
But to cut my story short and let the pictures do the talking. We would just like to thank Capestance for bringing together Cape Town's very first proper Stance event and that we hope to see more soon.
